Being face-to-face with 450 photographers for two hours is not something you experience every day, and it was not easy to tell about myself, as I did on Sunday 7th November in Riccione, during my talk at “Empower your Vision 2010“. Maybe because my job is to document, in a creative way, weddings that take place in the most varied places, and not to talk in front of such huge audiences. Furthermore, it is very different to “do” and to “tell what you do”, and it is no easy task to succeed in both!
In the first case, I don’t need to (and don’t want to) think too much when photographing – I’d rather get myself going with the events of a wedding as a leaf would do with the wind, focusing on what is happening and reacting to what surrounds me through my clicks, trying to transmit my personal style to everything I do. In the second case, translating into words, I instead try year after year to deal with those topics that I would love to hear about if I were part of the audience to transform “empower your vision” into a real thing: to extend and deepen the vision that every photographer has of its own work and not only, as I don’t think one could choose to “become a photographer” but only find out to be one already – and a photographer remains a photographer even after the closing time of his photographic studio.
Thanks to Photosì and Album Epoca for organising perfectly the whole event, and thanks to you all for the many messages I received.
